“In all types of conventional ships , a side force is experienced whenever the propellers are rotated. Though the magnitude of the force may vary with the type of ship, the direction is nearly always that indicated by the direction of rotation of the propellers (as though the blades were bearing against a more solid layer during the lower part of their travel). pg 28”

Para entende-la, faça um ensaio do que aconteceria nas situações de navio movendo-se avante, a ré, ou parado, com hélice de passo direito ou esquerdo, levando em conta a resultante dos 4 efeitos (helical discharge, shallow submergence, following wake e inclination effects).

Sua dúvida tem que ser particionada. Feito o ensaio, houve alguma situação em que a frase do livro não fez sentido?
